The Appraisal Institute has published a fourth edition of Appraising Residential Properties. The new edition, published in January, is designed to meet the needs of a new generation of tech-savvy residential real estate practitioners.
The classic residential valuation textbook helps appraisers understand the new Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) requirements for appraiser licensing and certification.
New data sources have been highlighted throughout the text, and the discussion of residential property design and building construction has been significantly reorganized.
Significant updates have been made to the text made to reflect recent changes in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, changes in the real estate market and changes to appraisal practice in general. Among updated information are new sections covering the scope of work decision in the valuation process; the use of statistics in real estate appraisal; increased use of automated valuation models (AVMs); and basic instructions on the use of financial calculators.
Appraising Residential Properties (Stock No. 0702M) can be ordered by telephone at 800-504-7440 or online at www.appraisalinstitute.org/ecom/publications.
