According to CNNMoney.com - "New York attorney general Andrew Cuomo warned he will bring more cases aimed at highlighting systemic flaws in the lending industry that have helped feed the ongoing mortgage and credit market meltdown."
Cuomo said in Washington yesterday: "'We're going to do another case this week,' 'We will be making other cases in the coming weeks, which will also be making points on systemic flaws.'
Cuomo was in Washington yesterday to lend support to federal legislation that would regulate home appraisers to ensure they are not pressured by lenders to assign high values to homes they appraise.
'Government regulation can help the marketplace by providing protections for investors and consumers alike,' Cuomo said in support of a bill introduced by Rep Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania.
