Week 20 in Paddy’s Garage: This was a busy week as I wrapped up a ton of tasks in preparation for the “Official” First Start in 3 1/2 years!!

 

Install oil/water gauge

Install wiper switch wires

Install dash supports

Install horn boss & center logo

Add 50/50 coolant

Install vac advance hose

Clean & Install radiator

Install carburetor choke & accelerator cable

Install rear view mirror

Install replacement dash knobs & switch

Change oil & filter

Connect lines to carbs

Connect heater cable

Install blower

Install fuel pump & hoses

Complete engine bay wiring - brake switch Adjust tappets (.012 cold) & valve cover

Center steering wheel & column

Tighten exhaust pipe mounting @ motor

FIRE IT UP FRIDAY

Check oil pressure

Check Tach Operation

Check ignition light

Mount Facet fuel pump

Remove mechanical pump & hoses

Install air filters

Paint 5 degree timing mark

Install fan & pulley

Install Oil Filter Adapter

Install heater box

Install Vac. Advance

Set/Check points gap & Install distributor

Install Generator

Install exhaust manifold down pipe

Install copper cap for manifold & solder

Install intake & exhaust manifolds

Install wiring loom to engine components

Install Positive battery cable

Install distributor

Set static timing

Install oil filter & feed tube

 

Next week will a busy one!

• Center steering wheel & column
• Install replacement dash knobs & switch
• Connect heater cable
• Install heater blower
• Install carburetor choke & accelerator cables
• Install vac advance hose
• Install fuel pump & hoses
• Complete engine bay wiring - brake switch
• Clean & Install hoses - heater, vacuum, radiator

This Week in Paddy’s Garage - Week 18 - The week started with a Motoring Monday meeting of the EATS Group and work continued with the recommissioning of Scarlet, the 1959 Bugeye Sprite:

 

Install wiper motor.

Install starter solenoid, starter cable & battery cable with grommet

Shorten copper oil pressure line and install.

Anchor water temp and oil pressure lines

Anchor negative battery cable.

Move wiper motor wires & grommet

Install choke cable & grommet

Paint upper timing marks

Install wiring loom to engine components

Paint fan pulley

Paint heater box

Install horn & relay

Next week will a busy one! Install engine components (fuel pump, generator, etc. ), install carburetors and distributor.

* Compression tester for Compression stroke

* Set/Check points gap & Install distributor

* Install copper cap for manifold & solder

* Install head studs & exhaust gasket & manifold.

* Install replacement dash knobs & switch

Fabricated new brake lines

Installed clutch slave cyl. & remote bleeder

Fabricated and installed new copper lines for clutch & brake.

Installed air intake and bonnet support sheet metal.

Trip to Springfield to inspect a barn find 1966 Austin Healey 3000 Mk3

. Trip to Springfield for the 4th Annual Fall Harvest cruise-In

 

Next week will a busy one! Complete work on hydraulics, install engine components (fuel pump, generator, etc. ) and possibly install carburetors and distributor.

This Week in Paddy’s Garage - Week 14 - Last week was a short “Work Week” as we headed north to Put-In-Bay for the vintage sports car race reunion. I finished sanding and stripping the front frame and applied primer and first coat of paint to the engine bay.

This Week in Paddy’s Garage - Week 13 - I finished sanding and stripping the front frame (in preparation for painting the motor and bay) as I continued rebuilding the RH brakes & suspension.

 

Completed the RH control arm/swivel pin rebuild.

Stripped undercoating from inner fender.

Applied red top coat to inner fender.

Installed new extended lug bolts

 

Next week will be a short “Work Week” as we head north to Put-In-Bay for the vintage sports car race reunion.

Remove steering rack

Remove exhaust down pipe.

Remove steering column.

Repair top spring buffer mount.

Continue cleaning RH brakes & suspension

Reorder extended lug bolts
